BackgammonDB is live!
A free, browser-based database for studying your backgammon matches. Import your eXtreme Gammon files, find your mistakes, and quiz yourself on the positions you got wrong.
BackgammonDB is a free tool for reviewing your backgammon matches. You drop your eXtreme Gammon (.xg) files onto the page and it builds a searchable database of every match, game, and position you've played.
It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there are no accounts, and there is no server holding your games. Your matches stay on your machine.

What it does
Review matches quickly. Navigate a match entirely from the keyboard — step through moves, jump between errors, view candidate moves, and overlay the best play on the board. The interface is built to zip through a game in seconds.
Clear readouts. Checker decisions, cube decisions, and resignations each get a straightforward breakdown: what you played, what was best, and what it cost. Beyond errors and blunders there's a third tier — the howler — set at 0.2 equity by default and fully customizable.

Share tricky decisions. Any position can be shared as a URL — board, candidate moves, and analysis encoded right in the link. Send it to a coach, a friend, or a forum.
Save, annotate, quiz. Star positions, leave notes, build collections of reference positions. Quiz mode replays decisions with the analysis hidden and asks you to find the best play first.

Automatic position tagging. Every position is classified by game phase (opening, middlegame, endgame, race, bear-off) and by position type for each player — back games, holding games, blitzes, primes, and so on. You don't tag anything by hand unless you want to.
Search across your whole library. The positions page is a query builder over every action you've ever played: filter by phase, position type, error size, opponent, match format, or your own custom tags. Any result set can be walked through position by position, or turned into a quiz.
