OpenGammon MAT file support
BackgammonDB now imports match files exported from OpenGammon.
Just a quick note to say I've updated BackgammonDB so you can now import MAT files as exported from the excellent OpenGammon.com.
Previously, these were all broken, because OpenGammon has a slightly different header format to what I've seen so far (no extra space between a player name and its score. Which, to be honest, is an grammatical improvement over other sites!). But until now that would have failed with a parse error at import.
The MAT file format is a tricky one to handle: there's no formal spec, and every app does thinks a little bit differently. We now have a test set of MAT files from XG, GNUBG, BackgammonGalaxy and now OpenGammon. However, there's probably still more out there, and even if the file does import there could be subtle transcription errors.
So if you have an issue with any file imports, please drop me an email at hello@backgammondb.com and i'll take a look.
